Electricians are In Demand

Career Overview

The need for electricians is steadily increasing. About 79,900 openings for electricians are projected each year, on average, from 2021-2031. In addition to many of those openings resulting from the need to replace electricians who transfer to different occupations or retire, the demand for electricians has increased with the emerging field of alternative power generation, such as solar energy. This advancement calls for more electricians for installation and repair services.

Annual base salary in 2021 — $60,040
